Lighting of Breckenridge


Kick off the winter season right the first weekend of December in Breckenridge with this fun family friendly annual event! Watch or join hundreds of Santas as they parade down main street followed by the beautiful and memorable lighting of Breckenridge. Other weekend highlights include a dog parade, moose march, holiday caroling, local artisan holiday market, theater production, and charitable toy drive.



Ullr Fest!


Come out and celebrate Ullr, the Norse God of Snow


Thursday through Saturday in early December. Ullr Fest would not be complete without the crowing of the king and queen, a parade down main street, annual attempt to break the shot ski world record shot, a massive bonfire. Bring your Viking hat and come join in the fun of this celebration. With a deep rooted history going back almost 60 years in Breck this truly is a whole town celebration that also offers several other rotating events and wintertime activities.



International Snow Sculpture Championships


Teams from around the world gather to compete in this truly incredible competition. Teams are supplied with 20 ton blocks of packed snow and attempt to carve a winning sculpture with only the use of hand tools. Sculpting takes place over 5 days near the end of January with completed sculpture viewing available for the 5 days to follow. Stop on by to watch the art in motion, or view and vote for your favorite creation following completion.
