No town or resort area within thr boundaries of Summit County, Colorado (Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Dillon, Frisco, Keystone, Silverthorne) hasn't hosted a 4th of July fireworks show since 2017 for many reasons including fire danger, safety and wildlife concerns, as well as negative impacts on our the environment. This season has been unseasonably dry, so chances are likely that if a fireworks show had been planned in the area this year that it would have been canceled due to the risk of wildfire anyways.
There is good news for locals and visitors alike who are in search of their 4th of July fireworks fix. Several communities surrounding Summit County have fireworks planned for the Independence Day night!

Kremmling, CO Fireworks
"Fire up the Cliffs" - Self proclaimed 'BEST FIREWORKS DISPLAY IN THE MOUNTAINS OF COLORADO'. I haven't been myself, but I have heard that they put on quite a lovely display! A fourth of July event will take place in Kremmling Town Square with live music, food, a beer garden, and other fun activities. Fireworks will go off after dark.
Fairplay, CO Fireworks
Fairplay's 4th of July fireworks display is scheduled to take place at 9:15p. If you would like to arrive early, there is a free concert w/ Narrow Gauge (an award winning Colorado country rock cover band) from 6-9p and a parade at 4:45p. The locals suggest that the best place for viewing the fireworks is from anywhere along Front Street.
Vail, CO Fireworks
Vail is hosting a 20 minute fireworks show launched from Vail Mountain and visible from many areas across town as long as you have a clear view of the frontside of Vail Mountain. The show is scheduled to begin at 9:45p. Vail will be closely monitoring fire danger and other weather conditions such as wind and has asked that anyone planning to attend the show check back on the 4th to verify the show is still planned. Here is a map displaying the areas Vail claims are suitable to watch fireworks from.
Leadville, CO Fireworks
The Lion's Club is putting on a fireworks show from the top of Dutch Henry Hill (near Colorado Mountain College). The show is weather dependent and scheduled to begin at dusk. Treeline Kitchen is hosting a rooftop fireworks watching party with music, a beer garden, and brats. The most popular area to sit and watch the display is from the Lake County High School football field and the surrounding areas.
ALL FIREWORKS SHOWS ARE WEATHER AND FIRE DANGER DEPENDENT! CHECK EACH TOWN'S WEBSITE AND FACEBOOK PAGE TO VERIFY THE SHOW YOU PLAN TO ATTEND IS STILL HAPPENING BEFORE HEADING THAT DIRECTION ON THE 4th!
There are several other Independence Day fireworks displays scheduled within an hour drive or so from I-70 in Summit County. Idaho Springs, Beaver Creek, Avon, Gypsum, but the 4 detailed above are the closest. Which one of the four is the closest to you will depend on where in Summit County you are staying.

Have Fun! Be Safe! and Always Remember to have a Sober Driver!
